oberts Tate obtained a $1.3 million settlement for landowners in Charlton County enrolled in the Forest Land Protection Act (“FLPA”) and Conservation Use Valuation Assessment program (“CUVA”). For years the County had illegally taxed landowners enrolled in FLPA and CUVA based on incorrect soil delineations. After years of unsuccessful efforts by Class Representatives to have Charlton County correct this error and pay refunds, Roberts Tate was able to successfully negotiate in only a few months following filing suit a $1.3 million settlement fund to repay landowners.
